"The Deal" is a delightful contemporary romance novel by the talented Elle Kennedy. It's the first book in the "Off-Campus" series, which has amassed a fan club bigger than a college lecture hall, thanks to its relatable characters and engaging plots. The story mixes love, friendship, and personal growth, all set in the chaotic world of college life, where academic stress and social drama are as common as late-night pizza runs.
Plot Summary
Meet Hannah Wells, a bright college student with enough ambition to power a small city. She's fiercely independent and determined to leave her rocky past behind. Hannah isn't just another face in the crowd; she's a character with layers, having battled her share of emotional monsters that have shaped her views on life and love. Enter Garrett Graham, the charming hockey star who seems to have it all—except good grades. His academic woes threaten to bench him, so he ropes Hannah into tutoring him. In return, he offers to help her navigate the social jungle. This leads to a fake relationship, which is supposed to be a win-win. But as they spend more time together, they accidentally trip and fall into real feelings, leading to a connection neither saw coming.

Hannah Wells: Our leading lady is smart, resilient, and knows who she is. Her story is a rollercoaster of healing from past traumas and finding self-love, with a few loop-de-loops of romance thrown in.

Review
"The Deal" is a perfect mix of sexy, fun, and surprisingly deep, with an awesome slow-burn romance that hooked me right from the start. I was totally drawn into the storyline, the relationship between Hannah and Garrett, and their backstories. The banter, jokes, and the comfort they share when they're together are just fantastic. These two have an amazing connection from the moment they meet, it's deep and the chemistry is undeniable. I expected a light, fun romance but was pleasantly surprised by the emotional depth. They both have some tough pasts, which is heartbreaking, but watching them work through it made for a great read. Make sure to check the content warning if you need to. If you're after a fun, flirty, and heartfelt college romance with awesome banter and a swoony hockey player, "The Deal" is a must-read! The slow-burn romance and natural attraction between Hannah and Garrett made this book so addictive, and I'm definitely grabbing more from Elle Kennedy.
