Review
This is the first book I've read by Laura Scott, but it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed it! It's a mystery that keeps you hooked, trying to figure out who did it. I loved watching the relationship between Doug and Maya grow. They really have each other's backs, working together and realizing they're a stronger team. Doug is on a mission to find his sister, and with Maya's help, he starts to see there's a higher power involved, and that prayer can be a real source of strength. The way Maya looks after her Alaskan Malamute, Zion, is super heartwarming. I found the details about working with a K-9 partner really interesting and can't wait to see what's in store for Maya's eight siblings and their SAR dogs.
